One move makes two cleans. The home you leave needs cleaning room by room once it stands empty; the home you enter needs cleaning before a single box opens. This planner holds both: the same rooms listed twice, once for each direction — move-out checklists for the old home, move-in checklists for the new one — plus a plan page and notes pages for what you find along the way.
The move-out side walks the emptied home: kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living rooms, and a whole-house final pass for the last walk from front door to back wall. Tick tasks as they are done; anything a list cannot hold — a mark, a repair, a question — goes on the final walkthrough notes page: what you found room by room, the photos you took, and the keys and items you handed over, all in your own words, written on the day. The move-in side mirrors it: kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living rooms, and a whole-house page — cupboards before crockery, floors before rugs, closets before clothes.
An arrival notes page holds the new home as you found it, while it is still empty enough to see, and a cleaning plan page holds both cleans on one page: each task in your own words, which home it belongs to, and the date you plan to do it. A lease, a sale file or a landlord’s letter may name its own expectations for either home — those papers are the authority for your move; these lists are a place to do the work and keep the record, not a ruling on it. Print fresh copies of any page from the file for the next move; moves have a way of coming round again.
Not the same shelf as its neighbours: the Moving Budget Planner (P-259) holds the money side of a move; this planner holds the cleaning side, for both homes. For the standing home’s periodic deep clean, the Deep-Clean Checklist Pack (P-267) is the room-by-room sibling.
