Project planners assume you already know the steps. This one assumes the opposite: the project is a fog, and the steps get discovered on paper.
The ADHD Project Breakdown Planner — Big Task Splitter is a 14-page printable system for ANY big task: a move, an event, a home project, a course launch, a mountain of life admin. One project per pack of pages — print a fresh set for every project and run the same four moves: canvas, dump, map, ladder.
The splitting method:
1. Project Canvas — the whole project on one page: its name, what “done” looks like in concrete words, why it matters to you, a target date that is yours to move, and what you already have (skills, stuff, people, time).
2. Project Brain Dump — everything about the project out of your head: tasks, worries, supplies, questions, fears. Unsorted and unjudged — sorting is the next page’s job.
3. Phase Map — sort the dump into 4–6 phases, the natural chapters of the project, in roughly the order they happen.
4. Step Ladders (×2, print more forever) — one ladder per phase: steps in the order you will meet them, each small enough to start, and a highlighted First Tiny Step — under 10 minutes — for today. A step that still feels big is two steps wearing a trench coat: split it.
Also inside: a Project Timeline (phases across 8 weeks, redrawn without guilt when life moves), a Progress Tracker (fill-in bars per phase — the project’s fuel gauge), a Stuck? Shrink It worksheet (too big / too vague / too scary, one shrink move each), a Parking Lot & Not-Doing List (good ideas for later, and scope creep officially released), a Project Log (sessions honestly recorded — your evidence on discouraged days), and a Project Review that feeds everything learned into the next project’s Not-Doing list.
This splitter is project-agnostic — no classes, no due-date log, no materials or shopping content. If your big thing is a school assignment with a class and a deadline, the ADHD Student Planner’s breakdown sheets are shaped for that instead; this one is for everything else that’s big.
Details: 14 pages, US Letter (8.5 x 11″), print-ready PDF. Fully undated. Calm moss-green design with generous white space and one idea per page.
