TFSA Contribution Room Tracker (Canada)

Original price was: $20.95.Current price is: $13.95.

Ask a room full of TFSA holders how much contribution room they have and most will guess — because the number moves in ways nobody tracks: new room every January, unused room that quietly piles up, and withdrawals that come back as room only on the NEXT January 1. This ledger tracks the movement itself, year by year, so the answer is read off a page instead of reconstructed from bank statements and hope.

The sample person carries $12,000 of room into 2020 (typed from their own records — yours comes from CRA, and the sheet says so). The new-room column is pre-filled with the CRA published dollar limits for each year — $6,000 for 2020–2022, $6,500 for 2023, $7,000 for 2024–2026 — each one a yellow EXAMPLE cell you verify and can replace; every total recomputes from whatever you type.

Watch the two moments this ledger exists for. In 2022 the sample withdraws $4,000 — and that room does NOT come back in 2022. It reappears in the 2023 row, on January 1 of the following year, in its own column, where a December withdrawal stops being a trap. And in 2024 the sample contributes $26,000 against $25,500 of available room: the Check column prints OVER-CONTRIBUTED by $500.00 the moment it happens, with the negative room carried into 2025 and worked off — the sample’s failure is left in the file on purpose, because that flag is the product.

The “Your Room Today” page reads the ledger back as one number — $5,000.00 of room right now for the sample — plus what returns next January 1 and the all-years totals ($56,500.00 in, $4,000.00 out).

What it does for you:
– Runs a true year-by-year room ledger: Jan 1 room, new room, withdrawals added back, contributions, withdrawals, room left
– Models the add-back rule explicitly — a withdrawal returns as room on the FOLLOWING January 1, never the same year
– Carries unused room forward automatically, forever, the way the account actually works
– Flags any over-contribution the year it happens, with the excess printed in dollars
– New-room figures are editable EXAMPLE cells (CRA published limits pre-filled by year) — replace them all and the ledger still works
– Plus expense log, zero-based monthly budget, dashboard and monthly summary

What’s inside (.xlsx, works in Excel AND Google Sheets):
– Start Here — setup steps and your carried-in room (from your own records)
– Room Ledger — 2020–2026 pre-filled, including the withdrawal add-back and the flagged 2024 excess
– Your Room Today — current room, next January’s room, all-years totals, the three rules in plain words
– Expense Log, Monthly Budget, Dashboard, Monthly Summary

Instant download. Type only in the yellow cells — formula cells are locked (password: sheetdaily, disclosed on the Start Here tab so you can unlock if you ever need to). Sample years are pre-filled so you can see exactly how it works; clear the yellow cells and type your own. Tracking tool only — not tax advice; your official room is CRA’s figure for you, and every pre-filled limit here is an EXAMPLE to verify against it.
