Superannuation Projector (Australia)

Original price was: $24.95.Current price is: $16.95.

Two questions decide most super outcomes, and neither is “what will the market do?”: how much extra goes in, and how much quietly leaks out. This projector answers both with the workings visible — two runs of the same life, one with your voluntary contributions and one without, and the fees and insurance totalled in print for each.

The sample: age 38, $86,500 in super, a $104,000 salary. The employer SG rate is an EXAMPLE setting pre-filled at 12% and the concessional cap at $30,000 — the ATO published figures for FY2025-26, named on Start Here with instructions to verify against the ATO and your fund and replace them; the sheet recomputes from whatever you type. Growth is charged on each year’s OPENING balance, the conservative choice, stated on the sheet so any row can be checked by hand. There are no FV or PV functions anywhere — the projection is an explicit year-by-year table.

With $6,000 a year of salary sacrifice and $2,400 after tax, the balance at 67 is $1,995,572.98. Without them: $1,447,914.69. The extras leave the sample $547,658.29 ahead — and the sheet also prints what the journey cost: $150,610.64 of fees and insurance premiums over the 29 years, totalled as “the drag” on the comparison page, because funds quote returns loudly and fees quietly.

One more honest flag: as the sample salary grows at an EXAMPLE 3%, its concessional total passes the EXAMPLE $30,000 cap at age 61, and the Cap Check column names the year and the excess from then on — the moment a real plan would need revisiting, shown instead of smoothed over.

What it does for you:
– Projects year by year to your retirement age with salary, SG, contributions, tax, fees, insurance and growth each in its own column
– Runs the with-extras and no-extras lives side by side and prints the margin ($547,658.29 in the sample)
– Totals the drag — every dollar of fees and insurance across the whole projection — on the comparison page
– Flags the first age the concessional total passes your EXAMPLE cap, with the excess per year
– Every rate, cap, fee and premium is an editable EXAMPLE setting (ATO and fund figures pre-filled, named by year)
– Plus expense log, zero-based monthly budget, dashboard and monthly summary

What’s inside (.xlsx, works in Excel AND Google Sheets):
– Start Here — setup steps and all EXAMPLE settings (SG %, cap, contributions tax %, your fund’s fees and insurance)
– Projection With Extras — 40 year-rows of salary sacrifice + after-tax contributions, with the cap check
– Projection No Extras — employer money only, plus the comparison block and the drag total
– Expense Log, Monthly Budget, Dashboard, Monthly Summary

Instant download. Type only in the yellow cells — formula cells are locked (password: sheetdaily, disclosed on the Start Here tab so you can unlock if you ever need to). Sample is pre-filled so you can see exactly how it works; clear the yellow cells and type your own. Projection tool only — not financial advice; returns, fees and tax settings here are EXAMPLE assumptions, and your fund’s own statement and projection govern your real decisions.
