A honeymoon has two budgets, and most couples only track one of them. There is the trip — what it costs, category by category, in the currency you will actually spend at the destination. And there is the fund — the cash gifts and registry contributions that are supposed to pay for it. This tracker runs both, side by side, and prints both gaps.
The trip tab prices seven categories in USD and converts every actual at YOUR FX rate (17.20 per USD in the sample, an editable setting — rates move daily). The sample trip books at $5,598 against a $5,700 budget: the stay runs $140 OVER after the ocean-view upgrade, flagged on its own row, while the trip still lands $102 under overall. In destination currency that is 96,285.60 — the number to sanity-check against local prices before you land.
The fund tab is deliberately unromantic. Six contributions — registry fund gifts, cash gifts, the couple’s own saving — total $2,635 of a $6,000 goal: 43.9% funded, $3,365 still to the goal. And because a goal is not a trip cost, the sheet prints the second gap too: $2,963 still to find against the trip’s actual price. Plan against the second number.
Two lines are labelled EXAMPLES in the workbook itself: travel insurance ($176, a published-quote premium) and fees & taxes ($132). Premiums and departure fees are set by your insurer, airline and destination — replace them with your own quotes.
What it does for you:

– Converts every actual into the destination currency at YOUR FX rate setting
– Tracks cash gifts, registry contributions and your own saving against the fund goal
– Prints % funded, the gap to the goal AND the gap to the trip’s real cost
– Labels insurance and fee lines as EXAMPLES to replace with your own quotes
– Adds a planning expense log, zero-based monthly budget, dashboard and 12-month summary
