A destination wedding is budgeted in two currencies and paid in a third moment: the exchange rate on the day the deposit lands. Every other wedding spreadsheet pretends your vendors bill in your home currency. This one starts where the quotes actually are — in pesos — and converts every line to CAD at YOUR rate setting, flags the destination tax where it applies, and holds each vendor against a home-currency budget you can actually reason about.
The sample wedding (Mexico, 12.40 MXN per CAD): nine vendor lines totalling 344,210 MXN. The venue & catering — 148,500 MXN plus the 16% EXAMPLE local tax — converts to $13,891.94 against a $13,500 budget: OVER by $391.94, flagged in red. Everything else comes in under, and with the couple’s travel ($3,180.00) the grand total is $30,938.88 against a $31,950 budget — $1,011.12 under overall, with the venue conversation surfaced months early instead of at the final invoice. The FX what-if shows the real risk: if the rate slips 1.00 before you pay, the same wedding costs $2,434.99 more. At 38 expected guests of 46 invited, the all-in cost works out to $814.18 per guest.
Settings are EXAMPLES — verify and replace: the exchange rate (use the rate your bank or transfer service actually gives you, not the headline market rate), the 16% destination tax (Mexico’s IVA — your destination differs, and some vendor quotes already include tax), and legal/paperwork fees for marrying abroad all vary by country. They are yellow settings and flagged line items, built to be replaced with your real figures.
What it does for you:
– Budgets every vendor in local currency (MXN) with per-line conversion to home currency (CAD)
– Applies the destination tax ONLY to the lines you flag, at your editable EXAMPLE rate
– Runs the FX what-if: the same wedding at a rate 1.00 lower and 1.00 higher, priced both ways
– Adds the couple’s travel in CAD and rolls everything into one grand total vs one total budget
– Computes expected attendance and the all-in cost per expected guest
– Adds a planning expense log, zero-based monthly budget, dashboard and 12-month summary

Instant download. Type only in the yellow cells — formula cells are locked (password: sheetdaily, disclosed on the Start Here tab so you can unlock if you ever need to). Sample wedding is pre-filled so you can see exactly how it works; clear the yellow cells and type your own. The sample is set in Mexico (MXN/CAD) — change the rate setting and the same sheet runs any destination currency pair. Planning tool only — not financial, tax or legal advice.
